This month’s Field Training will cover First Aid in the field and will be conducted by Nick Mrzlak. Nick is a highly experienced paramedic who did an excellent training for us two years ago. This year he will focus on assessment and treatment of traumatic injuries, including dressings, splinting and hemorrhage control. FAO Committee Members will assist.
We will meet at the shed by 0740 to depart NLT 0800 and caravan to the Eldorado Preserve 400 series trailhead. There will be demonstrations in the morning, lunch, then movement alongs the trails where we will likely come across some unfortunate subjects that will allow hands-on for the skills we just refreshed on earlier.
This will be GREAT training for injuries relevant to what we may see in the field. We don’t get many opportunities to have such experienced (and down-to-earth) people come to assist in our training – please make every effort to attend.
